| Heyyyy!! | I know. I know. It’s still summer. The last thing you wanna think about is Christmas, BUT here’s the thing… | Love it or hate it, Christmas is coming in HOT. You can either start preparing now to get ahead, OR panic in December and overspend. Then that dominoes into the New Year, and now ur broke and pissed going into 2027. It’s a never ending cycle 😩 | Let’s not do that 😑
The window is closing.
So Christmas is 120 days away. That’s about 4 months. If you do the math, $8 a day saves you $1,000 by Christmas. But the longer you wait, that daily number starts to go up. If you wait until October, now it’ll take $14/day to save $1,000. | Humans are very interesting because for some reason, going from a single digit, to a double digit number really throws us off. Right now we’re in single digit territory, so let’s take advantage of it. | You spend $8 on the most random things. I’m literally sitting at a coffee shop writing this and I just spent $8.67 on a large sugar free latte. I could’ve saved that today and put that towards my Christmas fund. | So let’s lock in. Three things 👇 | 1. High Yield Savings Account | The money you're saving needs to make interest. We’re striving for $1,000 here, but it can snowball into more if you have it in the right bank making interest. We’ve talked about this enough before, I think you should know this already :) | We actually just made a new Responsible Adult website with a bunch of High Yield Savings options. Pick one, one it and let’s move on. | | 2. Use a FREE Cash Back App | We have no affiliation with this company BUT we do use them personally. There’s an app that we found called Upside. It’s actually kinda cool because it gives you cash back on GAS. You just get the app, buy gas and boom cash back. | I personally have been using Upside for over a year. I actually kinda treat this as my Christmas fund. I get gas for my car and save up all the cash back and then boom, cash it out for gifts. I have fallen in LOVE with this system. | We looked it up and people that use Upside get around $570 per year in cash back. That’s roughly $190 between now and Christmas just from stuff you’re already buying. | There are other apps like this (Fetch, iBotta, Rakuten) but they really prefer if you use your earnings on gift cards since they’re partnered with those companies. Upside is the main one that I’ve seen that actually prefers you take the cash out instead of gift cards. Way better in my opinion. | We’ll also drop a link for them here so you can check it out: UPSIDE LINK | 3. Save $8 a Day | Like we talked about at the beginning, this is the most important one and it’s also the simplest one. $8 a day. If you wanna go into ur bank and make a recurring transfer, even better. That way you don’t even feel it. | Between saving $8/day, using a cash back app, and getting interest from a High Yield, this is what the full picture looks like if you do all three: | | Source | Amount by Christmas |
|---|
$8/day for 120 days | $960 | HYSA interest | ~$40 | Upside cash back | ~$190 | Total | ~$1,190 |
| | Stack uses those cash back apps ALL YEAR LONG and just racks up that money little by little. He honestly hates stressing about saving for Christmas. The holidays are supposed to be the most stress free, fun, loving time of the year. It’s not supposed to be stressful. For some reason, we make it do it to ourselves. | ALSO!!! Stack would follow Responsible Adult on Instagram 😂 There’s a button below to follow our Instagram! Our Responsible Adult clothing comes out soon! Be the first to know through our Instagram for updates! | Go be a Responsible Adult ❤️ | Mikey (& Stack 🦥)
